I'm looking at going to Lake Clark in Ennis for some fun fishing but I've never been there...can anyone give me some tips on running the lake and where to start catching LMB? Also, are there any fees/permits I need to fish there? How big is the lake (it doesn't look more than 300 acres)?

Small lake, throw a frog in the grass in the early morning or evening. Ramp is free.

Is there just grass all over the main lake or is it just around the perimeter? Any issues running the lake I should know about?

Been a couple years since Ive been there. There really isnt even a need to get your boat on pad its such a small lake. Used to be a lot of submerged hydrilla, but no idea what it looks like today. Id bring a frog rod and a heavier flipping setup.

Fun lake, easy to catch fish most of the time. Frog, swim jig, weightless baits.

There is grass everywhere and it's really thick. Its hard to fish it. Even in 8 to 10ft there's thick grass. As said above, frogs and soft plastics a good choice.

Went last week and saw a 10.lb bass a two more bass in between 7 and 10.lbs filled and floating at boat launch . Sad day game warden was called on it. .......don't ask me how I know. Lol. Long story. He said it was illegal to harvest the bass on a public boat ramp that isn't furnished with the proper cleaning station. He said the angler should have taken them to their final destination to be harvested. I guess the anglers house?

Seems like a strange law. If the dock has a counter top and a sink, throwing the carcas back becomes OK?

I know the warden pretty well....I don't think he'd make it up. But then he was waiting on me at the ramp for several hours that night to "talk to me" about my fishing trip.

I've never heard that. The closest thing I have read is that you can't clean them until you reach the shore but never read anything about final destination.
