There is no excuse for not having an armed guard and metal detectors at every campus. We can afford multi-million dollar football stadiums, but we can't keep kids safe?
Really sad deal...

The end came for at least 8 today. May they all have met their chosen God.

Here are the latest details.
9 Dead. The dead are students and adults. 18 injured Shooter in custody, another student being detained. Shooter was armed with a black, semi-auto rifle (AR-15) is what I'm sure the media will report, a shotgun, a handgun and pipe bombs. Explosives were found on and around campus. School Resource Officer was a recently retired HPD Detective. He was shot in the upper arm near the chest. He is currently in critical condition and in surgery. The fire alarm was pulled by another student (not the shooter) after the shooting began. She was trying to alert everyone and probably helped to save some lives.
My heartfelt prayers to everyone affected by this tragedy.

Just read where one of the students said the shooter was known to have problems with being bullied.

this is not a one problem solution. I believe it started when we took God out of everything. WE said God we don't need you and being a God who listen's did just that. Back in the day more people went to church. Now more people are watching their kids play sports or doing something else than to go church. Kids playing computer and not going outside. Back in the day when we got into a fight we settled it with our fist not guns. Their are more and I could go on. One more thing this is Satan's play ground. We are here for a short time. One day Satan will get his.
PRAYING for all those kids and parents.

No child wants to feel alone. Some feel that way because they are that alone. Bullying continues all the way through life. Getting to these kids before they get to this point to be heard is key. Problem is these type of people are so isolated they easily go unnoticed in our current system. Im very glad this kid was taken alive. He will be studied and we will learn a lot about how to stop this I hope.

I was just in the THF and apparently the politics behind this story is too much for their sensitive ears but 8 kids getting murdered at school isn't.

[quote=texasbass1]WTF is wrong with people nowadays? Maybe if they started holding the parents accountable for the actions of their out of control hateful kids some of this would stop. We need to stop raising kids that are wusses and cant handle disappointments or disagreements. My Generation, Generation X( fixing to be 44) Has raised a bunch of titty babies. These kids their whole life have been coddled and catered to, been told they are the best even when they suck, give them participation trophies for losing. What we are seeing is the end results. These kids don't know how to handle rejection and failure. They've forgotten how to communicate due to social Media. They don't handle their insecurities. Bottom-line my Generation, Generation X, has failed overall, when it comes to raising kids. I believe this is the biggest part of the problem. I believe it is part of the problem, I also believe that kids that are bullied and picked on cannot escape the torment like we could as kids. Social media and all of the various ways to have instant contact with people has made it where a kid that is troubled has no outlet or safe place to regroup an face tomorrow with a few hours of peace. Add in all the first person video games and saturation of events by the news media and you have a recipe for tragedy. There isn't a single problem, some will point at guns, some will point at mental health, some electronics, some at the parents or school or lack of influence by a role model. It isn't one thing but a combination of many things.

The shooters name (I will not mention) has been public for only a matter of minutes. Someone has already created a fake facebook page with a picture of a guy wearing a Hillary hat. Unreal how polarized our society has come.
