Went out last Monday at Isle du Bois and got skunked. Threw lipless cranks, spinners, texas rigged plastics and tried some Carolina rigged minnows. Lost a few minnows but didn't notice any bites. Going out again this Sunday and want to at least hook up on something. What's good to throw off the bank this time of year? Going to try to be out there around 8-9am and fish until we get bored. Thanks all

Go to the creeks bud, they can get thick in there right now for spawning.

If you're going to Isle du bois maybe try a minnow under a bobber around the rocks or around brush in the cove near the boat ramp for crappie.

Eric Are there any around Ray Roberts that are relatively easy to access? Don't mind a little bushwhacking but my girlfriend is terrified of snakes so I'd like to not run into any haha

Right now I think most fish on Roberts are headed back to the main lake. You might find some stragglers in the creeks but not many. The rocks might be a good spot for catfish right now as they are beginning their spawn. If you do want to try the creeks try spring creek off of 35. It has an easy access point from the service road where it meets I35. Good luck.

Not sure if I want to bother with those guys though lol. I think I'm gonna do more work with minnows this trip. Probably run a smaller hook as well. All of my carolina rig stuff is saltwater sized.

Looks like a good spot. Can you fish both sides? Park at the boat ramp and the marine shop?

Lots of people at that bridge today so fishing must be good. Most people park at the end of the bridge before you get to the boat ramp and walk down. Good luck.

No sir got skunked out again. Went to the ramp at du Bois this morning. Broke the eye on the end of my rod off on the third cast. Switched to my heavier action rod and used a minnow under a bobber the rest of the day. Had my girlfriend casting various crankbaits with no luck. Tried the cove on the left side of the boat ramp, went down to the side parking lot and down to the cove with all the submerged timber too. Saw the birds blowing up the water and the occasional fish hitting top water, but couldn't cast at them. Didn't see anyone else pulling up fish so I guess we weren't alone. Swung by Academy and picked me up a new rod to make myself feel better

The Indian creek and Isle du bois creek bridges on fm922 are both good places to bank fish. Crappie and sanbass at both places. I caught an 8.38 bass at the Isle du bois bridge when I was a kid. Another spot we used to crappie fish was the pierce creek rail road bridge. Go to the buck creek ramp road and follow it all the way to where it dead ends to the left. Walk south down the tracks for 1/2 mile or so. It's a trek but you'll most likely have it to yourself. The walk is easy since youre walking on the tracks and not in the woods.
