Fished Cypress this weekend, both Saturday(cold) and Sunday. Saturday's bite was great, caught a lot of fish off the first breaks on secondary points, about 4-7'. Caught them on cranks, senkos, and light c-rigs. Sunday it was sunny so I fished a lot of docks and caught 10 on cranks, creature baits, and senkos. Saw some beds, but it seems like these fish are still prespawn. All females didn't have bloody tails or sores, but some of the males had sores. Saw some beds, not many, and they were empty. May have been the cold front, not sure as I don't fish the lake much. Water temps were 58-63(highest late in the day). Clarity was about 1-1.5'.

Thanks, is that clarity east or west of the bridge, or all over.

I didn't go west of the bridge, but the south part of the lake is the clearest. That's the clarity East of the bridge.

Thanks Defmp. That's discouraging. Maybe it's the latest rain, but I remember back in the grass days Cypress could have 5-6 visibility on the east end.

Our best water clarity over the last 8-9 years has been in winter on calm days and it's maybe 2'. So many ignorant people don't understand the balance between grass and water quality. I've had this discussion with any neighbor out there who will listen. They just don't get it and won't. Sounds like some decent fishing too from the OP.

Took my boat to a family outing there in the mid-90's. Went the the point on the east side of Panther Creek and absolutely slayed the 2-3 pounders with a crankbait. Could actually see the grass growing from bottom in about 8' of water.

clearest you will see it is on a wed/thurs. friday the wakeboard boats start churning up the mudbowl on friday around lunch. no vegetation in the lake has ruined the water quality. the water isnt conducive to fry surviving except in a few key areas, water temp in the summer gets sweltering hot compared to Sandlin (which has aquatic vegetation). these folks will one day have water front lots on a festering bacteria laden summer swimming pot.

The people who are in charge of that lake could care less if the fishing was good. Good fishing has nothing to do with the price of real estate

that is very accurate! it's about Millionaire Bob Schmo that wants his 100,000 wakeboard boat only to drive to the Marina to eat overpriced cuisine. I love people watching out there! theres a small handful of good down to earth country folks out there, but it's few and far between. parents have an acre of waterfront property next to the marina, but are very seriously considering selling it. the lake is pretty much ruined front what it once was. I have tried to talk them into selling it and buying on Sandlin.
