I won’t lie. We took a swift kick to the junk today. We were pretty miserable most of the day.

Don’t know if I’ve been in worse conditions. Gusted to almost 40 to around 11. Was a cold cold B. Congrats to the guys who caught them.

If you can't find em wind em.

My primary area dropped from 67 last week to 58 degrees when we pulled in at 730 yesterday. We found some more protected water that was still 60-61 close by, that was where we caught our 2 biggest fish. Same baits and techniques as pre fishing, just went from 20 keeper bites a day to 6, plus 5 dinks and a catfish lol. Launched at Johnson Branch amd ran a LONG way north, was pretty bumpy but still very manageable if you took your time. Only issue we had was my rear light pole ejected somewhere along the way. Man was that wind cold!!!

We got to fish the areas we wanted to fish with no crowds or pressure. they were good in practice so we went with that plus the fact conventional wisdom showed that the fish would stay nearby. The fish did stay but we were simply unable to make them bite consistently. No excuses there. Pretty happy with the areas and what we did but the results did not prove us right.
We say a 2 degree water temp drop from practice and our areas actually had better visbility yesterday. Saw a fair number of abandoned beds as well. We were able to move around for the most part and other than being cold air temp wise it was not an obstacle on how well we did. We just flat missed something to trigger them to bite. Our struggles were on us and not the weather. We threw the tacklebox at them. Had a couple of spots where we never got a bite that made for the first time ever those spots did not even kick out a short fish. Historically always hold some fish.
In the words of Bill Belicheck, we are on to Tawakoni.
