An old friend will be visiting this week and has asked me to take him fishing. The closest lake to where he will be is Lake Grapevine so rather than have him drive to RR where I fish I decided to meet him at Lake Grapevine. Trouble is, I have never been on Grapevine! So a few questions about the lake.

Are there any ramps that are better than others? Have a dock? Protected from a North or South wind? Usable with high water?

Is it safe to run on the main lake?

Thanks for any information.

Murrell Park has a high water ramp that is open (when you come in to park, take a right at guards desk vs going straight). Its free, steep and totally protected from N wind and mostly protected from south wind but no courtesy dock. Katie Woods over close the Gaylord is protected from a s wind and has a courtesy dock, but is not as steep as Murrell (think its $5).

Havent heard much how its fishing lately, tough and muddy about a month ago. Still probably fishing better than RR
