Alright, so I have an 8ft Pelican Bass Raider that I just use to throw in local ponds. I'm planning to get a Garmin Stryker 4 to mount on it. Is there anyway to mount the transducer without drilling? The hull is plastic on these boats and want to avoid drilling if possible

Epoxy a block to the transom.

you can use something like this or fabricate something yourself with a cutting board and 3m 5200

I would recommend a stern saver like listed above. I put one on my champion and it has worked well.

^^^ I've never seen those, cool deal!

I'm sure I can rig something up like that. Just got figure out where I'm going to drill above the water line to run the transducer cable up to the bow, and to run the power cables back to the stern. I'm mounting the unit itself on the bow starboard side. I'll figure it out though.

If i can't find a way to rig something up I'll order that deal in the link above. Thanks folks

Just drill the holes and put some nice globs of industrial silicon in the holes before you mount it.

When I used to fish from a little Pond Hopper, I just had it mounted to the trolling motor.

See you on the lake and have a great day!

Mount it inside the hull. Epoxy inside and you will get same performance as outside.

Those bass raiders are full of foamdifficult to mount in the hull
Id do trolling motor mount or stern saver/piece of cutting board

Doesn't seem/look like there's any foam in the pontoons.. The pontoons sound hollow and I looked inside one of the plugs with a light and didn't see any.

I'll most likely just do the stern saver deal y'all are talking about. I would do a TM mount but I remove the TM every time I put the boat away.

On all my real boats I always had a shop/professional install these things but I'm not paying to have mounted on this piece of plastic.. haha.

I guess the transducer location wouldn't really matter? As far as I know you mount just below the waterline and level? The only problem is, there's no telling how the weight is going to be balanced out on different days.. With just me in there it'd probably be fine, but if I bring a buddy the stern lifts out of the water a little bit. I'd guess just mount it as low as possible? I must say.. I've had this little boat since 2011 and it's got to be one of the best investments I've ever made. These things are great!

Several differnt versions of this around and you can make one yourself that holds the ff and transducer, clamps on and you remove them both at the same time.

Shouldn't interfere at all being mounted to the trolling motor or make it any more difficult when you remove it.

He may not realize the transducer cable can be unplugged from the sonar as needed when removing the TM?

Back a few years ago I had both a 2 man bass buster and jon boat, I put the sonar head on the top of the troll motor so it did not matter what boat I used. The sonar got it's power from the same place the troll motor did.
