I realize that this topic has probably been talked about before, so I apologize in advance for being a repeater.

I have a minn kota ulterra trolling motor, self deploy. It's a great trolling motor. I have a hummingbird 9 si fish finder, non mega. It's about three years old now.
I love the lowrance side scan but found out I am not able to connect the trolling motor to the lowrance so here I am.

Which Hummingbird fish finder, hopefully no bigger than a 9, that has the best side scan possible that I can hook up to my trolling motor.
Long story short, I want to locate a brush pile on finder and click go to and my trolling motor takes me there.

You guys are awesome so thank you in advance. Just tell me what I need to buy to make this happen.

Brett

What Humminbird unit and year trolling motor do you currently have? If your current unit is at least a 998 you already have the capability. The xx9 units and newer units including both gen helix units got the software update that allows for a few more features with the newer Bluetooth motors. If you want the absolute best si that would be a mega unit, the largest screen you can afford

Yep, the built in transducer will not give you side imaging no matter what brand you buy.

Does your Ulterra have the link setup or is it just ipilot? You have to have the link which will connect to your fish finders. Just make sure that the FF you buy is networkable. It's really that simple. If you do not have the link on the Ulterra then you'll have to mark the spot on your FF and manually steer the trolling motor to the spot.
