Good trip. Thanks for sharing. What were the numbers per day per boat? Any over 10 lbs.? What was the most productive bait? Why are all your Pics. sideways? What is that thing on your head? All in fun.. Glad you guys had a wonderful trip with Mr. Speed.

Lake has been drawn down 6 inches per day and its down about 30ft from the original water line. My son and I averaged about 40-50 fish per day, average fish was 6lbs. Largest was 8.8 on a spring scale provided by the lodge. I've lost multiple big ones where I could not get them off the bottom. A guy thats been there for the last 4-5 years managed a 11, a few 10s and 9s. He made it on the top 10 board. Productive bait was a watermelon red flake 10" worm or lizard, white fluke with chartreuse tail, Oldham talapia jig with chartreuse craw trailer and spinner. This was a trip of a life time for me and my 10 year old son, so I had the gopro going on the head. Sorry about the pics. 10 year old took the photos with the phone Good trip. Thanks for sharing. got a trip scheduled early part of april....did you have an armed security guard with you traveling to and from the lake?....at the lodge?....patrolling the lake?....I've fished both picachos and el salto and never felt threatened however there is a travel warning going on for that area that makes me a little nervous. appreciate your thoughts...

The armed security guard starts the escort when you reach the town of Cosala. They escort you all the way to the camp and then stay un-noticed at the driveway over night. You will have early morning escort to the lake, as well as evening escort from the lake then they will stay at camp overnight, in their vehicles. I felt pretty safe there. got a trip scheduled early part of april....did you have an armed security guard with you traveling to and from the lake?....at the lodge?....patrolling the lake?....I've fished both picachos and el salto and never felt threatened however there is a travel warning going on for that area that makes me a little nervous. appreciate your thoughts...

Glad you had what sounds like a great trip with you and your son. Awesome times but man I can't see going somewhere fishing that required armed guards for anything.

You know, if I didn't feel safe, I wouldn't have brought my 10 year old son with. I felt safer there during the trip than walking out in the streets here at night. Awesome times but man I can't see going somewhere fishing that required armed guards for anything.
