The is not O'Hares plane in the picture of the sunken Lexington, it is probably Noel Gayler's Wildcat. This is what is circulating around with a bunch of my friends that are aviation and military buffs that have been studying it since the pictures surfaced. As for the Felix the Cat identifying it, the whole squadron had that insignia on their planes, O'Hare's plane had 5 Zero flags and no ship kill emblems when he was shot down. This is why most are saying it's Gayler's plane, some are say Thach's plane, but they are sure it is not O'Hares. Thanks for the info Rocky! A one of a kind find for sure.
