The Ray Hubbard Bass Cub will be having our second members only tournament of 2018, Saturday March 10th on Cypress Springs Lake. Here is the information - When: Saturday March 10th Where: Cypress Springs Lake - Overlook Park Ramp Time: 6:20 AM - 3:00 PM Registration: 5:15 - 6:00 AM Entry Fee: $60.00 per boat 2 person maximumYou MUST be an RHBC member to fish this tournament. We do not accept membership at the launch ramp, so if you want to fish this one, you will have needed to join the Club at our meeting this Wednesday night at BPS Garland. Here is a link to the meeting information. Meeting Link Registration will be at the ramp starting at 5:15 on Saturday morning. When you register you will be given a numbered chip. You will need to to turn your chip in by placing it on the board to get your fish weighed. You will need to get your live well checked and a ribbon tied on to your trolling motor which must remain there until weigh in. You can then launch or trailer and go to your spot. No lines in the water until 6:20. Lines out at 3:00. There will be a 30 minute dead water period where no fishing is allowed at the end of the day. This is to give members time to get off the water, and the TD's time to get the weigh in set up. The chip must be back on the board with the Tournament Director by 3:30. Weigh in will start then. If your chip is not on the board at the specified time, a 1 pound per minute penalty will be assessed. After 15 minutes your catch will be disqualified. You will be called to the scales by boat number. Leave your fish in the live well until your number is called! Keep the water treated! See you at the ramp!

FYI! the little mud ducks/coots like to roost in the middle of the lake. They hurt when one hits you in the forehead at 70mph in the dark! be careful running wide open down the middle! Luckily I "ducked" and it hit my head at an angle or else I would have probably been knocked out. Capp still laughs about it! Happened last year in the championship...... QUACK! The doctor on duty at my facility noticed the brusing immediately on Monday night when I showed up for work.

Looking at lakes right now. Graham, Hubbard Creek, Eagle Mountain... the problem lies with the lodging and place for us all to gather for dinner. tough to find a good spot.

We could always do steaks like several years ago. Or do it like champs and bring your own steak and we can all bring sides. That was a good time.

Will be camping on Cypress this weekend. Is the weigh-in open to the public? Would love for the kids to see it.

FYI! The entire lake is under a 200 feet from shore no wake zone to limit damage to docks from boat wakes. This will be enforced! Shut it down early when heading to your spot!

The fish were biting well at Cypress yesterday, but finding the right bites was tougher. Ronnie Manning and Capp Peace continued their domination at Cypress Springs catching 5 for 17.21 and taking the win. Big bass honors went to Warren Whitaker fishing with Jay Messersmith with an 8.87 beast. Just missing on that was Travis Reaves who had an 8.54. We also may have had the Junior lake record caught yesterday. More to come on that. 43 boats came out. Thanks to all. Full results and pictures will be posted this week.
