I feel a strongly worded email is the proper course of action here.

Might even throw in an addendum on that bad boy. That will show them.

One time I fat fingered a price on a car online. 30,000 was 3,000. Guy calls the next morning and argued to no end I "had" to sell it for that.

Sounds like you skinny fingered it to me.

Their late January sale on winter clothing is pretty good. I picked up a couple of soft flannel shirts for $14.88 each. They still have them:

I bought a Simms jacket new with tags that was $100 in there the other day for $35 and they still had a few left. hell of a bargain to me. cheers

Its not illegal, is just poor business sense. They should honor the deal they offered and take it up with the vendor. As a vendor, I probably wouldnt be real happy with their mistake and I may or may not help the retailer out, depending on the situation, but the retailer needs to honor it.

Its not illegal, since they repaid you in full. Its just a double whammy for them because now youre spreading the word that theyre not honoring the deal they offered.

I don't understand... How is this is a sales tactic? They don't get anything from it. What do they gain here but bad publicity?

Door buster. Got you on the website with a great deal in hopes youd nose around and grab a few more items along with the deal.

How is it dishonest? It seems to me the store is pulling the rug out from under a customer because the store made a mistake.

There is no honesty involved. He isnt cheating them or stealing. He is complaining they wont honor a price they advertised. If anyone is dishonest, its the store.

I agree with the above. It might be different if we were talking about a rare (or unique) item, like an old trapdoor Springfield. But for ordinary merchandise, Mark summed it up well.
