Wild Bill, I need to go out with you and see what your Helix picture looks like. I received a new 7Di for Xmas and just put it on the boat. The only thing I can see on it is the bottom and surface. I,ve reset the transducer twice without helping it. Ive had five Humminbirds which were all good, but this one looks like a loser. Im going to work on it a little more and then it goes back if it is not looking a whole lot better.

I have been looking at the Helix 5... just gotta get the wife into letting me get it! If you finally get her approval BBG Marine is the best place to buy one, cheaper with free shipping and no sales tax.

If you've got a Helix 7 DI GPS G2N you've got a great unit. It's either an adjustment issue or your transducer is not located properly.

Best with one each of the map cards. Each has lakes that it is better on. I put on in the bow and one on console and can switch them out as needed.

Thanks Aggie. Thats about what I figured, but so far nothing has worked. Im going to lower and reset the transducer and if that do,nt improve it, its going back.

Went to Palestine on Sunday to fish a small tournament. Near 7 35 trolling motor switch decided to go away I had to fish with the big motor and the power pole OR go home. I had bought the Lake Master card while I was in Dallas on Saturday I installed it while I was working on trolling motor. WOW was I surprised at the detail and clarity. I moved to creek bends with big motor put power pole down and fished that area I did this all day That card and my new Helix saved my day on the water Made me slow down and fish areas efficiently I caught only two fish but I learned a lot from my new Helix that helped me turn a bad day into a great day wild bill
Fishing and Dogs, how much fun can one old guy have !!!

There are all kinds of informative video's on installing transducers and setting up your fish finder. I bet it's something simple. Youtube helped me install my Ultrex and Humminbird Helix last week and both are working great.
