 Problems with 898c si

I have a 997c on my console and I recently purchased a used 898c si that has about 400 hours on it. When I hooked up the 898 to my console the down image has lines all over the image. I didnt get a picture of it but found one online that looks just like what mine does. What would cause that.

Also there is a connection to link the 898 but my 997 dont have one. Is there a way to link them together?

The 997 can be linked to both 898c SI models with the discontinued AS INTERLINK accessory.
They would only share waypoints and a GPS antenna.
INTERLINK was discontinued and no longer supported when the XX9 models came out.
The 898's supports Ethernet also.

Also there is a connection to link the 898 but my 997 dont have one. Is there a way to link them together? most likely a bad transducer or head unit. I am assuming you put the 898 at the console using the 997 transducer. If not swap the units and transducer around and troubleshoot from there
