Filled cooler back up. Shad are 7 inches on average with 20% 8-9 inches mixed in.

I believe this is a regular thing. I bought 4 lbs a couple weeks ago and they were fresh and caught fish. The best way to catch Carey is phone call. Tell him Dean and Austin said Hi!

I just talked with Carey, to pick some up later. Sounds like he has stock readily available. Give him a call. Ed

I will have fresh gizzards until the weather warms up, everyday. After that I won’t keep any on hand unless you let me know couple days out and I will get you super fresh for the summertime days.
Right now they are averaging 7 to 9 inches. You get 6 to 8 per pound.

I wonder if you can salt those down heavily and freeze them to preserve them longer? I know they do this with minnows way up north in Canada. They are called salty minnows and when put back into the water they re-hydrate and look fresh and fish eat em up especially walleye and pike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sd_oUFzGmS4I do something similar with bluegill and salt and it preserves the color for a month or so and blues seem to not care they are dead. From Genesis: "And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the earth."
Then He made the earth round...and He laughed and laughed and laughed!
