Jayhawk nation mourns the loss of one of my classmates. Heavy hearts as cancer has claimed Jayhawk and Boston Celtic great JoJo White. Three time Big 8 all star. Seven time Allstar with Celts. Twice world champion. MVP of 76 NBA Finals.
It was my great pleasure to see JoJo play the game at a very high level. He was one of those guys blessed with an extra gear most of us lack.
RIP

I was at Madison Square Garden in 1968 when Dayton beat Kansas for the NIT Championship when that championship actually meant something.
JoJo played on that team. Helluva player.

i believe NIT is still relevant there are many lower level conferences that do not get invited to NCAA Tourney say UTA UTA was in the tournament in 2008. Any conference can be represented in the tournament. In fact, the team that wins the conference gets an auto-bid. The NIT is not very relevant, except to the teams that play in it. No one watches the NIT like they do the NCAA tournament. Sorry for your loss, PH.

Butch, As far as spectator enjoyment goes, some of those lower division programs are great fun to watch. They might not have the freak athletes of the elite programs, but their kids stay four years and play for the team...not Sportscenter.

Yes Sir look at some of Eric Neals highlights UTA but a 5' 10" no chance at NBA

Sparks a fond memory. JoJo trying to teach me ball handling skills at KU Basketball camp, many decades ago. RIP JoJo!
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!
