Had interstates on my boat since I got it. Never had a problem out of them. You've had 6 years, so why would you change?

When I mention Lithionics are great batteries and the future, I open the can of worms. So I won't mention that they are great and the future and cost effective over the life of the batteries and the cost is coming down and there is no maintenance because I don't want to get the hate going so early in the day.

Dr. Juice, do you know what the average number of charge cycles on those Lithiums before they wear out?
I believe a regular deep cycle battery is good for around 150 charges, I'm just curious about the lithiums.
To the OP, I've bought my last Interstate for my boat. 2 new ones (27s) I've had to put in the boat the last year have both failed within a month. I average about 6-8 charges a month on mine and am lucky to get 18 months out of a battery.
Looking hard at the DEKA AGMs.

This is my problem as well: i fish twice a week and my trolling battery dies after 12-18 months. I dont know if it is better to pony up for a more expensive battery or just keep using up the $100 Academy cheapies.

Duracell AGM 31 has done a great job for me. They hold a good charge all day on my 23' cc

Judging from lipos seen in common electronics, the recharge life for lipos should be 600- 1000 cycles, if not more.
I would think most cell phones are put on charge overnight and typically are good for about 2 years for most users.

2-3000 cycles. It depends on how deep of discharge you put them under. There is a Battery management system that turns the batteries off at 80% discharge, punch a button and you have the other 20%. I did this once to see how long they would last and it was three days of fishing before I hit 80% discharge. If you recharged at 20% discharge you could get 20-30000 cycles. I am planning on 10 -15 yrs out of these. My flooded batteries were good for 12-18 months. I'm on eight years now.
