Happy new year folks. I am a novice bass angler and recently moved to dfw area with my family. I have access to a nice 2 acre pond at a country club and they allow fishing, and there are purportedly big bass. I have a couple of basic rigs and a bit of tackle such as spoons worms and crank baits. I wants to take my 10 year old daughter and want to maximize the odds of catching fish. Whats the best time of year to go and beat bait? No idea of depth or structure- this will be bank fishing, obviously.
Advice much appreciated!

An easy bait to throw for a kid learning to fish would be a wacky rig senko. You can buy a bag of senkos (green pumpkin) and get a short shank hook of some sort and hook it through the middle of the senko (maybe pull the hook back into the seiko slightly to make it weedless) and have her cast it out and have fun. It will be easy to detect a strike (bc) the fish will straighten the line out when it strikes. I would start fishing it in late Feb when the water temps get back in the 50s. Good luck!

For the kiddo, start them out with live nightcrawlers. Academy has them if you have one near. For you, throw a lizard in the spring on a Texas rig. Have a spinner bait as well. Should catch something.

Live bait, but dont use goldfish. If a couple were to survive and thrive in that lake, they could turn into huge grass eating machines.

This^^^ plus it's a golf pond and it should be pretty easy to catch some bass.

Live bait with a floater for your kids and a top water popper and spinner bait for you should work good in the pond. Good luck.
If it was easy, everyone would do it

Advice much appreciated! Hard to beat a live minnow under a bobber. Kids love to watch the bobber dance around and go under. I would probably wait until the ice thaws around the bank before I took her tho.

There's probably a million sunfish/bream in there. I start her with a red worm, and a small hook with a bobber. You wont have time to fish,..

I agree with the weightless senko and especially the weightless watermelon fluke.
here's another option - my daughters loved to fish with a frog about that age. easy to cast, no treble hooks hanging to catch something (somebody), and with my daughters' slow reaction time, a bass has plenty of time to 'eat it', so hooksets are pretty high percentage.
wait till we get several days of warm weather in February. good luck!!
oh, and if you need some help, let me know and well see if there are a bunch of big bass in there; be happy to help.
