It's more money, but look at the Balzout mounts. Top of the notch.

Yes, some use that with a Helix 12.
The H model goes on a horizontal surface and the V model goes on a vertical surface.

Other brands and RAM styles are more suitable for surfaces that are not V or H since they would be more adjustable.

Some people use a mounting plate made of some kind of plastic to mount on the transom and then mount the transducer to the plate whats your thoughts on this, ?
The theory is if you hit something the transducer would break loose rather than tearing up,not sure that will happen though .

The plate is so you do not have to drill holes in your transom which could cause future issues. It isnt a break away for the transducer. They should flip up already if bumped or there are specific protectors for them

The shield n saver? I think more are starting to use them because of the costs to replace newer transducers isn't cheap any more. I have one on my trolling motor transducer because I have broken 4 or 5 without it.

I have three on the back of a bass tracker. Most people opt for the shoot thru hull transducer for 2d readings. For those that the shoot thru is not an option these spring back brackets work really well. I actually have a onix and a 2d transducer mounted low with these brackets

Will the spring loaded bracket sbb4 work for my high definition transducer on my hummingbird helix 10, si ,Isnt this high definition transducer a little longer and standard transducer?
