Don't recall him saying he was ''so upset'', just trying to fairly warn others that even though low hours are on boat, still might not be on any warranty.

Looks like a paint line, it's even a different shade of white of that on the edge.

Same thing happened to a buddy of mine with an almost new Nitro Z9 but his delaminated and half the hull sloughed off driving across the lake and hit the lower unit running into weigh in. They said too bad, you're the 3rd owner. Pics on several fishing sites and low and behold their regional director called wanting to talk really bad! Not saying you should do that for a little crack but I still think it's shotty craftsmanship.

Their trailer warranty also sucks. I have a 2014 Nitro Z9 and this past June the trailer broke in half just behind the swing joint. When I say broke I mean broke and hit the concrete at 60 mph. Called Nitro and got the same Tough SH*&. I asked them if their trailers were manufacturer to last just 3 yrs. and was told "After one year we really don't care how long it lasts". It only costs $280 to repair, but when you spend $60k on a boat, motor and trailer you would expect it to last more than 3 yrs.

Failure analysis can easily be conducted on any form of damage to find the cause regardless of age, and if its determined to be a manufacturers defect under the normal warrantee period it should be rectified by the manufacturer......period. Consumers need to vote with their money if they ever want common sense business practices to be common place. The act of manufactures defaulting on there product responsibilities only happens because we as consumers allow it to happen.

As a boater, educate yourself on who the major offenders are. The information is out there and easy to find, all you have to do is recognize the result and then steer clear of the product.

Typical Nitro customer service. Pathetic at best.

I didn't know that. I was fairly set on my next boat being a lightly used Nitro, but this thread and your reply regarding basscat might change my mind. Good to know they stand behind their product.

As already stated, buy a Bass Cat, lifetime warranty, as long as you pay the fee to transfer. I bought an 08 Bass Cat last June in Tennessee and filled out the form, paid the fee, sent it to Bsss Cat and got a confirmation a couple weeks later of the warranty transfer.

That was all I was trying to do was pass along info...you do have to give bass cat credit for standing behind the hull that way!

A few years back there was a Bass Pro Shops employee who had purchased a nitro boat. The hull delaminated and he had to resort to suing his employer to get the issue resolved.

Just food for thought...
