Wanted to go for a few hours in am. Anybody have luck off the bank? Is there a charge to go park and fish there?

Remember to review the consumption advisory for this lake. They lifted the outright ban on some of the fish. Those that are not still banned have strict advisories attached to them.

REVISED: Mountain Creek Lake in Dallas County

Chemicals of Concern:
Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxins

Persons should not consume common carp, freshwater drum, or smallmouth buffalo from this lake.

For channel catfish and white bass, adults are advised to limit consumption to one 8-ounce meal per month. Women of childbearing age and children under 12 should not consume channel catfish or white bass.

Adults should limit consumption of flathead catfish to two 8-ounce meals per month; and largemouth bass to three meals per month. Women of childbearing age and children under 12 should limit consumption of flathead catfish and largemouth bass to one 4-ounce meal per month.

This replaces a previous advisory issued in 2010. See detail

Why are PCBs commonly found in old air conditioning capacitors and such found in a lake? What are we doing to our lakes? Ugh!

If the fish don't bite your not baiting right...
