Just saw that Legend was bought out and the name has no future. Kind of a shame. Always liked their boats

The same thing happened to Seaark. They were bought by Master Craft. The powers at Seaark claim there will be no change in quality, but we haven't seen what the bean counters have to say about it yet. I'm glad I bought mine three years ago and I'm just on the sideline looking in. My dealer placed an order in October and didn't get his boats until May. That's a long time to wait for a batch of aluminum boats..

SeaArk was purchased by Correct Craft, which is the same group we decided to join. It creates longevity and the premium brands are Nautique, Bass Cat, Yar-Craft, SeaArk, Centurion, Supreme, Bryant and PEG Engine, which builds the inboard engines for a majority of tow boats, air boats and other individual low volumes. They keep the present operations in place because they were effective and select high quality companies. We were the second asset they purchased after their engine company PEG. They compile assets for the right reasons and not for a venture capital flip or liquidation. It is a faith based organizatiob with a strong view of a positive culture.
Nautique and Bass Cat are both multiple JD Power companies and the original Correct Craft brand. Steve Henderson is the President of SeaArk and a hard core angler. I continue to run operations at BCB/YCB and there are no product quality changes. Correct Craft is an independent private owned business group and we fund a non profit charity arm. We are only asked to do what is right and quality. Never in the last 2 1/2 years of operations has lowering quality been a goal. Only trimming and cleaning waste while providing the best products possible.
SeaArk has been streamlined and is producting a much more efficient product with better quality. A new $500k plus CNC shear was purchased and they recently completed installation of two (2) new paint booths. Things are looking much better there and the staff would tell you this.
We are on an aggressive product roll and will soon undertake a significant expansion as we are out or room for both brands.
MasterCraft is a public traded company and they recently bought Cobalt Boats from Paxton Saint Clair. They are not associated to any of the mentioned companies.

My mistake.. I remembered that it was one of the "Crafts" that bought Seaark.

Who told you they have no future. The same group(White River Marine) also owns Ranger and Triton. They seem to be still around.

I'm using deductive reasoning. Look at prior case studies.. champion for example. One of the best boats ever imo was forced into bankruptcy and same owners of ranger bought most the debt... champion was allowed to fail so another brand could succeed . That same brand will undoubtably be favored over the Legend line. Not an insider and not the smartest guy on earth but the writing is on the wall

Legend is a very profitable brand and with Stratos going away my guess is Legend hangs around a while.

My experience is, all corporate acquisitions begin with the reassurance by management that "nothing is going to change, we are happy with you" and end with "there is the door, we are going to do it our way". It can be good or bad, but it will not be the same.
