Howdy everyone! Taking a family trip in a couple of weeks to Hilton Head Island, SC for a little beach time. I have been looking over Google Earth and Google Maps for entry points and flats to wade; not having much look. Curious if anyone has fished this area and may be willing to share information, a map or names? Looked at possibly getting a guide for a 1/2 day but, we will see. If you got a good guide for the flats, please let me know. We are taking surf rods and terminal tackle for shark too! Again, any information on HHI is greatly appreciated. Tight lines.

FishyB -
Big fan of yours and Knuckles. Always enjoy your posts and vids.
I'm from that area (Beaufort, SC) and one of our best family friends owns an Orvis-endorsed outfitter called Baystreet Outfitters in downtown Beaufort. Tony is the owner and his son-in-law Capt Tuck Scott is an Orvis-endorsed Fly Guide for the Low Country; he's also nationally recognized. Tuck is a super nice guy and very professional; very similar to the guide you and knuckles had in Cocodrie. If you decide you'd like to pick their brains about the area or potentially book a charter, feel free to mention that you know Paul Smith, Allen Smith's son.
You and the fam might also enjoy a small side trip to Beaufort to visit the shop. Beaufort is full of Revolutionary and Civil War history.
Feel free to PM to discuss further. Be safe!
Capt. Tuck Scott - Boat: Hell's Bay Professional
Head guide, Capt. Tuck started fishing and shrimping the Beaufort area 30 years ago with his grandfather. He has heavily fished South Carolina's Lowcountry from Charleston to Savannah and has incorporated his fly fishing experience of twenty plus years to exclusively target saltwater species here in Beaufort, SC. Tuck targets redfish, seatrout, ladyfish, cobia, tarpon, and sheepshead on the fly as well as on light tackle from a 2017 Hells Bay Professional. Because of its unmatched excitement, sight fishing is his primary method of targeting most species.
Regards,
Paul

Howdy Paul!
Wow! First thank you for the very nice compliments; I know we have fallen short on videos in recent months but, looking to make up for it very soon!
Second, what awesome information, thank you very much! We will certainly stop in and have a conversation with Tony and Tuck when we get over there.
Really appreciate the help Paul.
Tight lines to you!

No problem. I hope it works out for ya'll to go over there. The food downtown is excellent. Carolina BBQ is NOT Texas but it's tough to beat (mustard based BBQ sauce).
Looking forward to seeing you and Knuckles out below PK this fall.
Travel Safe!
Paul

Wading georgia/south carolina for reds is very different than here in texas. The bottom is typically extremely muddy. The only wade-able areas are grassy beds that get flooded during high tide. A week long kayak rental would open up lots of fishing.
