But it didn't start out that way
On Wednesday, Belinda & I set out to do a little catchin.
It was overcast, light winds, periods of very light rain....
GREAT fishin weather for August
We started out hitting a few of the spots that Hickory Nut & I had fished on Monday, but little to no success
Then we moved to the spot HN & I had graphed and marked, but didn't return to before we limited out.
It was on instantly
When it slowed down, we'd take off graphing standing timber, see a few, throw out a buoy, stick a few
There was only 2 spots that we found that had a small concentration of fish....I'm accounting the cloud cover to having them scattered.
But if you'd keep on the move, you'd find some here & there
We had 45 in the boat, and again, never got the boat on plane or left sight of the ramp, and was about to jump up on plane to go find the last ones,
when Belinda said, "Just head back to the ramp graphing, you'll find more".
Stopped at a single tree that had a couple of white dots, caught 2 more...3 more needed.
Stopped at a clump of trees, finished our limits, but they were hitting so hard, we sat there for another 30 minutes catching and releasing fish
Again, baits of choice were Mini Tadpoles, in Copper Mine, Citric Acid and Lime Glo-Treuse
Even though it was overcast, we caught most of our fish 1-2' off the bottom in 19-24 fow
I had filled my boat up with petrol Monday am before HN & I went out....If this keeps up, 42 gallons will last a long time
