Before you spend 400 on a mother you have to send at least that much just for a setup that can actually throw it

My buddy has one but probably not 400 bucks. He carries a mask and fins to retrieve it if ever looses it. He also caught some dd's with it too

I have the Roman Made Negotiator which is a glide bait that I don't think they make anymore, awesome bait and money well spent. I worked at TackleWarehouse for close to 3 years when I lived in CA and I only ever saw 2 of the Roman Made Mother swimbaits get sold. Even the big bait guys in SoCal didn't buy em because they have guys like Andrew Hinkle and others that make far more realistic baits needed to catch the teeners in the highly pressured southern CA lakes.

Cost of anything is relative, there's no deference in someone who makes $ 25,000 a year paying $ 25 a piece for a bait than someone who makes $ 100,000 a year paying $ 400
makes as about as much sense as someone who makes $ 50,000 a year having a $100,000 boat financed for 15 years and a $ 75,000 pickup to pull it with but I know a lot of those guys and they've never fish above a local club level
But they work for the money and its there privilege to buy a $ 440 swim bait if they want , I have a couple of $ 40 baits and my biggest bass ever came on a .25c baby brushhog

I tried to help the economy by buying a number of them, but none of mine were over $150 out of pocket. If I manage to catch even just one DD with one of them, I'll consider the expense for all the baits, rods, and reels to have been worth it. I liken it to trophy hunting with a high-end rifle, optics, binoculars, etc., none of which comes cheap either.
