Will be heading out this weekend for leisure time with the family on a pontoon. don't know if I should take the rods for some whites, bass or cats action. Or not bother with it and just enjoy the sun. Convince me, what happening out there. Haven't been there in a year.

I just got to the Medina rv resort Sunday afternoon. We are staying in the cabins this week for my sons last State shooting competition. I fished all the way around the point yesterday evening bound and determined to catch 1 on a whopper plopper..... not even a blow up. Saw a few whites busting out a ways from the boat ramp but that was it. Heading to the city park in Bandera today with the fly rod in tow to get that itch scratched then back around the point this evening...... I will keep you posted.

You can have a good day bass fishing with a Shaky head and a pack of trick worms.

I've been to that city park in Bandera. theres a lot of bass and cats in there. However the day I went, they were very picky and wouldn't take what I threw. If you have polarized lenses, you can see them in there at some parts of the river.

Update..... caught a basket full of bream on the fly in bandera yesterday, had a blast. Fishing from the bank on medina yesterday evening was a pain in the butt with a shakey head. It kept getting hung on the rocks from pulling it up hill. Decided to try a small square bill, that was the ticket.... caught 10 lmb in 1 1/2 hours. Got back to the cabin and had a well deserved Dixie cup of devils cut with a dash of coke. All in all, a damn good day.

It's a little 1/4oz, pearl side, yellow stripe, blueish back. It runs 1 to 2 ft. I'm stuck fishing the bank so I was fishing the backside of the bushes and hitting the gaps. I caught 3 that I probably wouldn't have if I didn't chang the retrieve direction. Or at least I think.... going off that information I would change your retrieve direction after a short pause when coming out of the brush. Just my 2 cents..... Had to take my bride to eat tonight but should be out again tomorrow evening.

Not sure how this thread went from the Medina Lake to Bandera City Park, but I went out last weekend caught a few keeper size bass in the back of coves in about 8 ft of water with green pumpkin power worms. Heard that a 12+ was caught last weekend also. Fished about 6-8pm. Are there still white bass in that lake?

MedinaD,I was just throwing Bandera in since i made a side trip up there. Yesterday evening on medina i caught 5 on a small drop shot rig behind the bushes on the breaks. 3 of which were keepers. Heading back to setx this evening....
