I really like lakemaster for the lake level adjustment and the shading but it will really boil down to what lakes you fish on which brand had the best coverage. I own both and use whichever has the best coverage for the lake that I am on

Lakemaster for birds. I have two fishfinders at the dash and one does have a Navionics in it just for the differences...but I mostly use the Lakemaster.
***If you ever get an Ultrex the "Follow the Contour" only works with Lakemaster.

Depends on the lakes you fish. LM is really good on their HD lakes especially with the water level offset. I also use the Navionics mobile app on my pads and phones with similar features.

Both are really good options and great tools, one may shine better than the other in certain areas, so my advice would be to take a look at the available mapping from each company before making the purchase and get the card that is best for you. Here is the Navionics webapp:https://webapp.navionics.com/#boating@6&key=omvvDnjx%7DP It is all of the updated mapping available for Navionics, be sure to toggle the button in the bottom left corner to turn on the sonar chart layer, this is the layer where the sonar chart recordings as well as other updates are stored.

I have both Lakemaster and Navionics for Texas and I much prefer the Lakemaster. I just went up to Tennessee to fish for a week and Lakemaster did not cove the lake I was fishing on so I had to buy the Navionics for that region. After using the Lakemaster for months now and having to use the Navionics last week I realized how much I really prefer the Lakemaster, assuming it's an option where you are fishing. I do have Hummingbird units and the Ultrex link so that's a plus for the Lakemaster also. We were fishing for smallmouth and all week caught them only in the 20-30 foot range. The contour following would have been really nice if we could have used the Lakemaster.
I have the Navionics app on my iPad and really like it for the price. I have the Hummingbird app also and like it a lot but it's insanely expensive to purchase each lake separately at $30-$40 each. You can buy a particular lake and use it on the app or in your boat so that is an advantage if you're going somewhere you don't normally fish and saves you from having to buy the entire SD card.

Depends on the lakes you fish. Each has lakes they're better on

I've got two Helix 10's with Lakemaster & Navionics. I prefer the Lakemaster quite a bit.
