This was his second gar ever caught and his first black gar coming in at 58in. He did a great job fighting it! After a few pics it was released to fight another day

That is cool. Do y'all catch very many that big? Biggest black gar I've seen was a long nose less than 5lbs.

That is cool. Do y'all catch very many that big? Biggest black gar I've seen was a long nose less than 5lbs. this is the biggest one iv seen. we fish another spot about 40 miles downstream and have caught alot there but none were as big as this one
