I got a gift card to Academy and want to order a new rod. I'm between these two for a shaky head rod. What's your experience/opinion of these two? Thanks

I don't own either but I've owned other models by both brands. All of them were good rods. Since the Dobyns is half the price I'd go that route but I'd certainly want to handle them first. If the academys in your area are like mine good luck finding one in stock. If you can handle a new H2O Tac40 rod. High end rod for a lot less

I've owned both. E6X would be my choice. All of my customer rods are Loomis E6X and a few of my personal rods too. Not a better option at that price point in my opinion.

Both are good options for their price points
