If you have a leader, no. I like yellow when using a leader. If no leader, flipping for instance, use green.

No, but Hi vis yellow etc is a great option to learn on. Much easier to see subtle line movements, etc. sometimes you won't feel the bite; even on braid. You'll just see your line swimming a little bit and you set the hook and there's a bass on.

I use mostly green but I might use red depending on the depth and clarity of the water.

On moving baits no, look at Umbrella rigs with all that metal all over the thing and they hit that.

We fish a soft plastic floating fluke and we believe it goes. I buy a black paint for braid from TW. Also, I have used about every brand. Berkley Professional Grade Braid keeps its color the best for us. GREEN!

Does any company make one yet that actually holds it's color?

I haven't found one....not that I stray from Suffix 832 much, but have seen alot of different brands. All of them fade....

I use a black magic marker , if I'm in clear water , just wrap your line around the tip of the marker , side it up and down a few times , seems to help .

Note, Ken, that Hackney uses a long but parabolic rod. The lifting point farther away from the rod tip does two things: it effectively slows an angler down, keeps the hook from being ripped loose with unyielding braid; then, it ends up creating a much shorter lever so Greg and others actually have more power over the fish, when it counts, not less. A nice combination. Brad
