For years I've been wondering is the creek, that flows south from White Rock Lake, considered private property? Would a person have issues walking the bank there? Any ideas??

Great question. I'm sure someone will answer back that knows. I have wondered that before just looking at the lake on google earth.

It's been awhile, but this should still work: You can park behind the liquor store(?) on Garland Rd next to QT & walk down from there. I believe they are fine with you parking there (they used to be). Access along the bank is not perfect in all spots, but there are some nice LMB in there.

If you can find a place to walk to the bank, you can pretty much fish it at will till you get to Tenison golf course, It's a muni course, run by city of Dallas, and the greens marshalls frown on fishermen on the course. Below the golf course is a spillway right before Samuell blvd and 30. when the water is flowing you can catch lmb, crappie, sandies, catfish. Some are good sized.
When the district work takes me to that side of town, many a time i have waited out rush hour on 30 by wetting a line below the Tenison spillway.

WRC @ Military PKWY behind Lone Star Liquor store is a good location when the water is flowing.

I was just thinking about the bank from Garland Rd to almost the golf course. Google maps shows the east side pretty open.

just be careful the grass has lots of snakes hidding out.
in the seventies i fished the creek (and lake) from float tube, during my buster boat days i always wanted to drop it in the creek. but the lake was too easy to fish.

I went by yesterday and the main lake was probably 2 feet high w/ tons of water going over the spillway.

It's legal to fish on the bank from the spillway to tension. Like everyone else has said, watch out for snakes. Be careful though because when you reach the halfway point you're going to see 2 ponds on your left. You're going to want to fish them. Let me tell you from experience. DO NOT FISH those ponds. Mr warden lives in that community and if he sees you fish it you're done for. Those 2 ponds use to have a great population of LMB but the flooding washed a lot of trash fish in there and a lot of good fish out.
