Going to make some jug lines this evening using PVC and pool noodle. Does anybody have any designs they like, such as length of PVC/Noodle? Anyone use rebar in the middle of PVC vs no rebar? Thanks all.

I fished with the bleach jug before, but I'm limited on room in the boat so I'm looking to go to something smaller. Thanks for the suggestion though

Pool noodles must be white if you are using them on area lakes.

If you don't mind spending some money check out Jugs by Bert. They're about $10 each but come with line, hooks, weight, swivels and beads. They are round disks and will stack 7 tall in a 5 gallon bucket. The weight has its own spot in the jug so when rolled up the jug is completely flat and has nothing hanging from it to get tangled. They are a great space-saver. Used to fit 36 of them in the rod box of my dad's old skeeter when I was a kid.

Made some a few years ago with pvc and pool noodles, went back to 1 gallon jugs. Noodles for me were to much of a hassle. Noodles do store much easier and require less space can put 10 in a milk crate but, 1. Need a small weight or free float, then you spend a good majority of time trying to find them. Wind or fish will move them a good ways away. 2. Heavier weights will keep them in place from wind but if you catch a decent fish it will drag it down and will get hung up and gone to much combined weight to float.
A one gallon cleaned out oil jug will float a 4lb weight and at least a 30lb fish, yes the fish can take it down, momentarily. Is this the best setup probably not but works for me. I'm sure there are better ways.

Noodles are not buoyant enough to me, its much harder to pull a plastic jug under.
We use pieces of PVC filled with cement and an length of chain with a link hanging out for weights, wrap line around the weight. Leave a big loop on the top of the line feed through handle and around jug put hooks on and bait and ready to go.
The weights store easily in a milk crate. The jugs we just run a rope through all the handles and tie off to a cleat.
