Starting on V-Rock and hiking up to Opal then on to fish creek. Going to spend a quick two nights in the backcountry on our way home from Durango. Hoping to do a little Tenkara in Leche and Fish Cr. Guess I will skip packing the fly rod to the lakes. Thanks again.

Plenty of amazing public water on the Los pinos below the private stuff. Some really great fish hold in there and little to no pressure.

Just arrived today. Anyone have any recent reports of the area?

Lakes are going to be your best bet ...streams and creeks are rolling! We drove over the pass to Creede yesterday and fought the wind but did pretty well at a high alpine lake. Hope you packed some warm stuff for later in the week!

Amazing difference in a week. Fished the conejos near FR 250 HWY 17 intersection last Thursday. Did not even try yesterday. Runoff in full steam. Los pinos above 17 is the only fishable water I have found... So far

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Going to the same area in a month so thanks for all the places to check out. Be in Bayfield for a week at a cabin on the lake and will be trying some of these spots. Keep up the reports.
