Anyone own it? I'm interested but i have been reading about how when the kayak heats up in the sun the side rails of the kayak become soft and the seat falls down into the bottom of the yak. I read they made extensions that corrected the problem but I weigh 290# and not sure I want to chance it. Anyone have experience with the chair? The seat I have now seems to be supported differently and won't slip out it's just not very comfortable for long rides. I think I'm gonna have to get some sort of cushion

I have had mine on a 2012 Ride without problems for a couple of years. I can see where 290 distributed across mostly 4 points could put a little stress on the system. Maybe the high version of the standard seat provides the upgrade you are seeking. I don't give the Phase 3 particularly high marks on its adjustability but it is a heck of a lot more comfortable than the low seat.

My daughter has rented a Ride 135 several times, and last summer I saw the seat collapse in the manner you described. I have both high and low seats for my 115, and they are both fine for me. I'm 6'4"/265#, and I've never had a problem with my seats, and I use the low seat when I fish the Lower Mountain Fork River below Broken Bow. The lower CG is great for navigating the rapids and rock gardens.

I was afraid of that I have the ride 135 with the discontinue high seat. The seat is ok but I'm a big dude and something bigger and higher would be nice. How about a seat pad, can you recommend a really comfortable one
