Last week I was at Amistad and before going down I talked to Bink at Two Guys Marine. I was thinking about having his shop look at my trailer bearings because I was worried about them and it was time to have them re packed with grease. And, it's time to replace the impeller. It's a 4-hour drive so I was hoping he could look at them while I was down there.
Of course they are busy like so many other shops, which is what I expected.
He said he would try to squeeze me in. He even offered to pick up my trailer at the ramp while I was fishing. Well, after thinking about it I decided it wasn't fair to put him in a bind. I called and let them know I wasn't going to have them check out the trailer.
I arrived Friday and stopped to gas up the boat at the station across from Two Guys. It was too windy to go out anyway.
He saw my boat at the station and walked across the street to tell me he would work in the impeller that afternoon and the trailer Saturday morning. As it turned out both items were in serious need of service. He saved me from possible side of the road or on the water failures. He went above and beyond.
This weekend I'm on Rayburn. My trolling motor cable breaks late Friday afternoon. I call around to see who had parts. I finally reach Mid Lake Marine in Many, LA. By now it's closing time. I needed to know which cable to get by looking at the tag under the foot pedal. I couldn't get one of. the mounting screws out of the pedal. And a cable bound up inside the pedal.
Don, the owner at Mid Lake offered to meet me at his shop early the next morning even though he is closed on Saturday. I get there before 7 a.am and he comes over, fixes everything and adjusts the cables properly to where it works better then when new.
Both of these experiences were of guys going above what they needed to do. Kudos to them just so we can chase some stupid green fish.

I was at Amistad the month of March. One day I had an issue with my seat pole. Long story short I took it to Two Guys and they fixed my problem for free. Thanks a BUNCH!

I had a Power Pole line blow out where last year on a Friday evening at 5 the day before champs, went to Two Guys in Del rio as they were getting ready to go home. They stayed a few extra minutes to fix the problem and refused to take any money, great guys to deal with.

Congrats on both encounters. I am glad you had great experiences on both. I hope others on here when they need help will use theses two places for being great people and going over and above for this great sport.

That is great customer service. There is no substitute to 3rd party testimonials like that. Good to hear. Too bad R & R Marine in Pittsburg doesn't live by that level of service. 1 (One) manual steering cable that required 45 minutes to install cost over $500.00? They said the cable cost $399.99. I made the mistake of calling in advance and saying I had a tournament the next day, could they help? Won't be going back there for service or a boat but definitely will use those listed in this post.

Good service used to be the norm but now it's less common. Glad to see some people still practice it and get recognized for it.
