Hell yes I would nobody talks about AOY but they do say your a Classic Champ...No one shows up for AOY but the fans show up for the Classic..

Classic champ is a nice trophy and a great accomplishment but becoming AOY is a much harder task to achieve. I'll take both please!

My reply on your other post regarding the subject. Gman ain't on JLs level either no Classic Dumbest post of 2017 so far on TFF So I hear Pro after Pro say the Classic is the biggest stage and event...So Gman wouldn't trade AOY for a Classic? BS Ask any of the pros and they will tell you the Classic is the easiest tournament to win. Only ~ 50 competitors and you can swing for the fence because there aren't any points involved and no one cares about 2nd place. Plus, after Day 1, at least half the field has been mathematically eliminated, so now you only have to beat 25 guys. And only over three days rather than four. AOY is MUCH HARDER to win than a Classic. However, most will say they'd rather win the Classic. It's the world championship and garners far more attention from the general public and sponsors than does AOY.

I agree w/ Fouz(except last two lines unnecessary) +1. Except I believe the last two lines are sound advice.

As a tournament angler I can tell you AOY over Classic any day of the week. A win in a tournament or win in a Championship is great. But AOY means you are "the best" out of everyone for the whole year! AOY's are a lot harder to come by than tournament wins!

I'm not going to argue that its harder to win a AOY but I would take the Classic any day of the week.
