I fished the south part of Northlakes Park in Denton today. First time to actually fish for catfish.
I was wondering how good the fishing is on the south and/or north body of water in the park?
Any crappie there?

Bass are decent in the summer in north pond. Never caught anything out of south one.

lanman71 does pretty good there on some baits most wouldn't throw.

Northlakes can be good. The fish see the top 10 baits all day when its warm. Think outside the box. In stead of throwing a fluke, throw a fluke on a scrounger jig head. Throw a smaller spinnerbait vs full size. I used to catch a lot of frog fish out there but haven't in a few years.

Most I have caught was 14 in a day.

The North pond is definitely the better bass pond. I checked it out last summer? (6 months ago?) and the vegetation was really grown up. Inaccessible really, at least on the west side with the little fishing dock.

I have half a mind to go over to the airplane field to the east and see if I can't get in to it...

If you can get out in a small boat I used to and fish you can find 3-4 pounders in the south lake. I have never tried the north one but I know there is fish in that one to.
