Well I took my boat out to try my new Xi5 , the darn thing wont lock in GPS it just blinks every one in awhile. Also when I turn it on , it seams to only have low speed , and wont cruise or anchor. I am off some next week to go fishing but don't guess I will if I cant figure this thing out.

Start with having the on board trolling batteries checked out. I have seen many times where this has caused issues with the motor. Even one bad cell can cause a trolling motor to act up.

I have a similar issue as well. It will no longer anchor lock or travel to saved waypoints, however it will lock on to heading. I am not having any speed issues, and the batteries are all brand new and were all fully charged before going out. One of the batteries I replaced was bad and the motor worked just fine. I'll be calling MG tomorrow to find a solution to the issue. Everything I have read thus far is a "dongle" software update they will send you in the mail. You might check into that.

The Batteries were fully charged , but noticed the batteries light was red on the motor.

This is correct however BiGTex1959 stated he was also having a speed issue. That is when I recommend a battery test 1st. If you have lost GPS signal only try removing the negative cable from the trolling batteries when the motor is on then reconnecting the negative cable and powering the trolling motor back on. Sometimes that has been known to re-establish satellite issues and yes sometimes a re-calibration software with the "dongle" from a ASC will be needed.

Yes even though all appears to be well with the batteries while on the charger It is my 1st recommendation to have them tested anyways. You can pull the boat to any AutoZone or O'Rileys and they will check them for you at no cost. You do not even need to pull them from the boat.

Thank you for the help. I tried unplugging the negative wire, but it didn't change anything. I'll be calling MG tomorrow.
