I fish around the area and usually have pretty good success at any of the lakes around the austin area, but i have fished lake Georgetown 3 times now and have not even had a bite. I know there are whites and crappies and I can find them but what I'm after is Largemouth. It says the lake is rated good for bass but have not had any success.

Any advice?

Small baits.......down size. Fish there are finicky. Shakyhead or splitshot rig will get you bit. I like to call that place the Dead Sea!

I used to live in Gtown and used to fish that lake alot. Poster above is right. Smaller is better...
White or Chartreuse ..... Hair jigs. I know, I know, who uses those for bass these days, but they worked great off the dam. The north side main points on a T-rig (pumpkin seed, motor oil or blue-fleck). On the Western end i would have some luck with spinner bait or again a t-rig. The above poster is accurate in Gtown lake being reallly stingy/finicky. Ive seen 3 fish win a small tourney on that lake. true story.

Was really hoping last years spawn (when the water came way up) was going to get a good healthier number of bass back in that lake. Guess we will see. Chris, you going to come out on thursdays?
