My father pulled this girl out of Marine Creek last night.

Edit:

This is a link to a hi res RAW photo I was able to capture of her.

Story:

I made a few cast with my red rattle trap, on this cast I was banging it around the bottom in 3 to 5 feet of water. She engulfed my lure, I felt the fish, it was a heavy fish, I was not sure what it was, it was not a thrashing fight: more of a tough of war. I had to tighten up my drag because I was reeling and getting no were.

Once she was close I could tell she was a BIG bass which set my nerves on edge because I was night fishing alone. After I lipped her the emotions of excitement and joy overwhelmed me. I called my son to bring a scale and to take pictures. I kept her in the water until he arrived, whence we promptly weighed her and took a few photos.

After letting her recoup for a few seconds in my hand she promptly and strongly swam away. I caught her with a 7 ft medium action bait caster with 12 lb mono with a red rattle trap.

Thanks for letting me share this fish and good luck to you all.

I used to fish this lake a couple times a year, never had any idea of the quality of bass that it has. Good catch.

Poor lake.

The meat haulers are in full force fishing off the dam every day when I drive by since the SAL was caught out there.
