Full moon and warm nights. I'll be hitting the bank tomorrow. Hopefully they're there.

I'm looking,I went and hit some hot spots today in feeder creeks. Nope, full of carp. Seen some shad and life at the mouths. A few black bass and bluegill was all to be caught. We need some rain to get my spots right. Just stagnate dead wood and grasses decomposing. Maybe looking for plan B or C this year. Found some nice bluegills in 21-25' near the creek channels today. That's fun too.

I went to the bar ditch and a small lake. Nada.
A guy at the small lake said water temp was 58-62
What is the magic temp?

Last weekend we were fishing brush at Navarro Mills Marina and were catching them out of a cedar tree that was not even fully covered with water. Maybe 2 feet. Don't know if it's because the brush was New or that The girls are coming to the dance early.

Besides creeks a couple of weeks ago the only place we have found crappie is on the east end of 2 mile bridge in 18 FOW

The lakes will have fish move shallow in the creeks in the end of Feb/ beginning of March especially if the lake has black crappie. The smaller bodies of water will have fish up shallow right now with these temps. I would look in ponds and smaller lakes up shallow and you might be surprised. I caught fish in a small lake up shallow with eggs running out of the females on February 17th last year and they looked like they had been there for a while.

the 28th of february is the earliest ive found them shallow in centex. I wouldnt pay much attention to the water temp... water clarity yes, they dont like clear water. From the eggs ive seen in the last couple weeks, I would guess it will be a couple weeks, to 3 weeks. The biological trigger in the fish decides. Likely abt the time they themselves were spawned.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

When the Dogwoods blooms it's time to go, we saw a BIG flock of geese flying north yesterday so I'm hoping in two or three weeks it will be on.
If it was easy, everyone would do it

Went to lake XX today, got blown off the water...lone star cat sent a pic of some nice fish up the creek on another lake, so i joined him...All told we counted 33 nice fish...one female was spewing eggs. A couple more looked to be half spawned out. Of all the lakes I try to keep up with, as of last weekend, most fish are in 15-30 ft deep hanging with the shad.
