Hi everyone,
Me and a few buddies are making a trip LOP this coming weekend. I was wanting to check in and see how the bite is and if the crappie have started to move shallow? Any help would be great.
Thanks

I was there for a couple of days weekend before last. Battled the wind. By the looks of the forecast you will be battling it as well. Caught some in about 20 feet of water and they each full of eggs. My guess it's getting close to spawning time at least on the northern end of the lake.

Thanks for the info. We're hoping the wind doesn't hurt the fishing to much.

A quick tip......I caught several nice ones in Buckhorn Creek just north of the island (between the island and Big Cypress Marina). Just slow trolling minnows 20-23 feet deep. I was protected from the wind pretty well in there. You guys might try that. Be careful though; that lake can get real rough.

If the wind gets to be too much for you go to Caddo. We caught a few in the river off of lay downs at about 16 ft. I went to pines the weekend before last and it was just too rough, and no fun.
