Trust me, you won't want to make the drive from Overton.
Went again yesterday with the missus.

A few weeks ago we were catching a ton of crappie at the creek that comes into the Sabine River just below hey 59 by Carthage.. it's fun when you can get into them like that ecpecally with the wife.

Nice pics! You are doing well. I wish my wife liked kayaking and or fishing but at least she lets me go. The other day after chasing crappie in the creek for a few hours with limited success in the deeper holes I caught about 2 dozen sandbass in 45 minutes in the shallower water less that 2 feet. The bite was so aggressive they were hitting the crappie jig 20 foot behind the boat when I was padding back at 3 mph. The sandbass were on beds ready to spawn. This was north of DFW and water temp was 60 degrees. It will rain 3 times in the next 10 days per the forecast, sigh.

Yeah, the last two years it flooded right in the middle of the run. This year the run started early and I just happened to be ther in time.
