Crappie might stacked there All that does is spread the fish out. It would be difficult to find more than a couple out of all of that cover. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. Not to mention it is like that in several places on the river.

It has been a bust this year from this stretch. Gonna give it one more try in 2 weeks, then I'm finding a new creek. Tried for 3 hours yesterday. Every jig color I had from 6" below a bobber to 4' below. Tried roadrunners as well. Finally got bored, caught a bluegill and cut it up and tried for catfish, gar, whatever. Nothing. Bluegill was the only thing I could catch.
Saw a couple of guys in a jon boat and they didn't have any luck downstream from 428 either.
What a maroon!

The sandies and hybrids are starting to show up downstream in the Elm Fork. Carrollton dam, and California Crossing are strarting to produce both, and no logjams to worry about. Crappie have not quite moved in close but it won't be long.

Caught one nice size white bass at California Crossing today. Then tried Carrollton dam and caught nothing. Should get good in the next couple of weeks.

From 380, exit 377 North. In Aubrey turn west on 428. After a few miles, the greenbelt parking area (Aubrey Branch) will be on your right.

Is that your white truck I keep seeing at clear creek Ian? I caught 4 decent hybrids at the bend next to the spillway at ray roberts on Sunday then nothing yesterday. 428 has been a bust so far but last year I didn't catch any there until mid March, so I'll give it 2 more weeks.

If I'm at clear creek under 428 I'm with a buddy in a black jeep. Which will be the case tomorrow evening.
