the upside to the bill passing is the price of suppressors should come down as more people will start buying them, and the big guys will start making them and putting them on their factory rifles... a suppressor shouldn't cost more than a couple of hundred bucks, tops...

agree, 5 bucks worth of material & 1/2 hour labor shouldn't cost so much

Get a .30 cal can. It will work fine on a 6.8 and you can move it to a .308 when needed.

If you order online does it have to ship to an FFL?

Yes to a clas 3 dealer. And you will have to get a tax stamp and approval.
Hopefully in six months you will only have to get a nics check.

no. if you buy from a store in Tx. it can ship to your home, ffl is only needed when coming from out of state. this is why I will use silencer shop, they ship direct to ya.

They can't do that anymore. I asked about it when we became a "Powered-By SilencerShop" dealer and they said they did away with that program.

I guess that kinda makes sense if you are using the kiosk anyway, no transfer fee is good.

At present the process to own a silencer or a Class3 FA weapon takes time. I don't know the specific laws in Texas but in any of the states where I have purchased a Class3 weapon or a suppressor it involves paper work and waiting....:) A set of fingerprint cards, a signoff by a local LEO, the $200.00 tax, and then a 3 to 6 month wait while the BATF processes everything. And if memory serves the dealer you buy from has to be a Class 3 dealer. And No....a suppressor won't make a weapon "movie quiet".

If you buy from us,

1. Bring your trust, FD-258 Fingerprint cards, Passport Photos and money into the store.
2. Pick the one you want.
3. I will go draw up all the paperwork. (You don't have to do anything other than answer same questions that are on background check for buying a gun and sign your name.)
4. You write a check or write your CC info on form to be sent to NFA Branch of ATF for $200 tax.
5. You pay us for suppressor.
6. You wait...

I will handle everything else from here. Current wait times are longer due to ATF pulling employees off NFA applications processing. I am currently receiving applications back that were submitted late February to early March.

one of the silencer shop guys told me there are only 2 people processing the forms is why it takes so long. if the hsa passes I will be in for one or 2 suppressors.
