I'm currently building a 6.8 AR. Just buying some parts here and there so it will be a while before its completed. Going to save some money for the last piece which will be a suppressor. What is the best but most affordable brand out there? Also what optics you guys recommend?

Not sure how that works. I did mine in person. Take 5 minutes tomorrow and call Silencer Shop. I hear they have great customer service.

Where did you do your paperwork? I bought a Bar-Sto threaded barrel a ways back for my Sig 225 that I'd like to get a can for. Any suggestions for a 9mm?

SilencerCo Omega. Hands down best .30 cal can on the market. I bought one personally after doing hands on research of all the big names. Give me a shout with any questions.
John, check out the SilencerCo Osprey. Well worth every penny.

go go silencershop.com and get started,
do a trust, best/easiest way to buy one
they have kiosks at shops with a locator on the website, use this method.
fyi: you have to pay for the suppressor, tax stamp and then wait up to a yr. for approval.
fyi 2: there is a bill in congress now called the hearing protection act that will do away with the wait, you will buy one like a gun if it passes. I am waiting to see what happens.

Only downside is to get the effect of a can you have to shoot subsonic ammo or really there is not much there imo. Look at the trade off shooting with and without the can.

Was so good in fact that the ATF investigated them.(a few years back) Their customers were waiting a 1/3 of the time compared to other places. I'll see if I can dig up the email

You can shoot super sonic ammo. It still makes a big difference. It's not going to be "movie quiet" but still below hearing safe. Suppressors also make many rifles more accurate. Also, suppressors slowing bullets down is a myth, in some setups it actually increases velocity and further stabilizes round after leaving the barrel.
Don't wait for the HSA to pass. The minute it does, suppressors will with fly off the shelves and the ones that are available with be outrageously priced. If you buy now and pay $200 tax, once act is passed, you will receive a $200 tax credit.

I already know where to source the materials needed and can build a decent can for less than 200.00, any caliber.
