Wonder if they will be made in New Hampshire or Germany.

Can't remember which book it was in. Chris Kyle's or Marcus Luttrell's. But, I remember in one of them they mentioned that the Sig is preferred by many SEALS. That's a good enough endorsement for me to want one.

Sig makes a good gun. I have a few Sigs and like them. I think New Hampshire. MAGA

I am still confused as to why this decision was even made. What made the Army decide it needed a new sidearm?

Love Sig pistols. Good choice by the Army.

Coast Guard was already issued Sigs back in 07. We went from the M9 to the Sig 40 and never looked back. The Sig laughed at saltwater and sand. The Army will love it.
Man up. Fight the GOOD fight.

Originally SEALS were issued Beretta's but due to stress cracks after a few million rounds, the tested the Sig and never looked back. My understanding they even tried the H & K USP, but went with the Sig. this was back in the days when MP5's were still the rave. Now everyone carries a long gun of some kind. The Sig is a great gun, that's a huge chunk of change for the worlds best Army...
Mind you this was out of Rogue Warrior...

I think I remember reading that one of the reqs was that pistol had to have slide mounted safety and Glock did not submit a pistol with such a feature. Sig is a good gun and will do our troops well.

What made them pick the P320 over the P226 that the SEALS use? What's the difference between the two?

I've never understood the fascination with glock. I get the reliability part, but to me there are much better options at the same price point. The grip on glock sucks out loud too. Sig is hands down a much better quality firearm.

Sig is hands down a much better quality firearm. When Glocks first came out I went to a range and rented one. Fired the first round and the main spring vibrated so much and for so long it felt like I was holding on to one of those handshake joy buzzers. I unloaded it and haven't put a round through one since. And I agree on the grip.
