We kicked it into gear right before the holidays by eating healthier, trying to shed some pounds. I don't discriminate when it comes to food. I like healthy foods, junk food and everything in between. I have been eating healthier for about a month, now but dang if my appetite isn't going through the roof! I'm eating all the foods that supposedly fill you up or make you feel full, but I always feel hungry. What have any of yall found to be a great appetite suppressant?

Not that I practice it,but I've read all the books. Supposedly you're supposed to drink more water. When they say drink an ounce of water a day for 1/2 your body weight, you'll never feel hungry!

Yogurt helps a lot, but you need to be careful not too overdo the dairy on a daily basis.

When I was losing weight, I would eat a small amount if I got so hungry that it was distracting. I got small plastic cup and I would eat only as many chips, crackers, pretzels, whatever that would fit in it and no more. Then nothing for at least an hour.
It takes about 15-20 minutes for your stomach to get the signal that something's in there and to stop giving you that feeling. If you eat just a small amount it will trigger it and the feeling will go away - just not immediately.
Not sure if it will work for you, it depends on your situation. My problem was that I would sit at my desk and eat half a box of crackers or half a bag of chips at a time. Started using the small cup and still ate when I got hungry, just not nearly as much.

Embrace hunger. It means the furnace is working. However, eat multiple small meals so you don't go into starvation mode and shut off the furnace.

Coffee does a good job... Or make a small bowl of oatmeal and stir in your favorite jelly/jam for flavoring...

I've only ever found one appetite suppressant that works; fishing. In all seriousness, you know you are doing something you love when you forget to eat. Outside of that, there are lots of options, but most of them that actually work require a prescription and come with side effects. The best option to lose weight, in my opinion, is a low or slow carb diet broken into six smaller meals throughout the day, coupled with exercise and lots of water.

Come into the sub forum, Health and Fitness. Be glad to help.
Posting in the OT, the answers will be funny, but might not be that helpful. LOL!
Personally if you let the stomach growl a bit it will go away. Only eat when your blood sugar needs it. Or when your normal meal comes up.

6 small meals a day...lots of water
Stay at your desired calorie level and cut out sugar as much as possible, read the nutrition facts. Every 4 grams of sugar is a teaspoon, so picture that when making your portions.
What a maroon!
