The first and only meeting I had with a GF while living in a Baton Rouge ended with him telling me to never see his daughter again. It wasn't anything I did, but who I was. In his broken Cajun/English accent he said something to the effect of, you are not Cajun, you are not catholic, and you are not one of us. He said this while cutting the head off a gar with a hatchet. And we never saw each other again.

So her parents are ok with her being a lesbian? That's pretty cool of them. I mean, obviously the OT is a very inclusive group, and we are approving of your lifestyle choices, so we don't care that you 2 are lezzies, but her parents being approving of it is some next level stuff.

We really don't give you enough credit for your acting skills.

My wife and I invited her parents out to eat before we got married so that I could ask him for his daughters hand (mind you, they had known me for 8+ years). After the meal we were sitting there waiting on dessert when I made it official...pretty much went like this

Me: "So for the sake of tradition and because I believe it's the right thing to do I am asking you for your daughters hand in marriage"

He looked at me with a straight face for about 10 seconds and yelled "you son of a b.... you just want to have sex with my daughter". By the way, did I mention he yelled...very loudly.

The restaurant got really quiet. I paused for a second...seemed like eternity, everybody staring (my wife said it was very quick)... thinking about my reply. I stood up and said "why wouldn't want to have sex with your daughter, she's pretty hot". The restaurant cracked up laughing. He broke his straight face, hugged me and said "good answer, welcome to the family". Everybody applauded.

I'll never forget that night. We got free dessert.

Man up. Fight the GOOD fight.

My first meeting involved a 4 hour round-trip to Houston to pick up my broken-down car.

I really liked both my FIL and MIL for about the first 2-3 years of our marriage, but then their real nature came out and they were total jerks who treated me and their daughter like krap.

Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

Very good inlaws here unfortunately my FIL passed away some years ago. We fished a lot together and even shared a place at Fork my wife and her parents. It could get a little testy at times when you are together that much but all in all memories I will cherish forever. MIL is still alive and upper 70's and goes 90 mph just about all the time. I would not have traded them for any other inlaws...unless they were really rich bolt grin

Lived with my MIL about 3 months at the 925 in Grapevine before she was my MIL. The cringeworthy part would be when she'd bring back some goober guy she'd met and tell him I was going to marry her daughter. Their face would read, "well what the hell are you doing here then?"

My FIL was a good guy when he wasn't around my MIL, she was and still is a b!tch and follows suite most of the time, I never was good enormous till she sold the ranch and pilfered through a couple million dollars then needed our help. So I bought them a house here at the lake, iPad all their bills, gave up our plans of buying a ranch and put our lives on hold, six months later they up and leave, I had to pay a mover to load the [censored] and move back to their home. I told them to loose our phone number and leave us alone, hadn't heard from them in a year and it's been very peaceful!

I didn't marry the girl, but I had a funny moment when meeting the father of this cute little latina number I was dating. I was sitting in their living room chatting with her mother one evening when he came in from work. He introduced himself and shook my hand, then he walked back into the kitchen and called his daughter to come back there.

All of the sudden I heard him shouting "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME HE WAS WHITE!" Followed by a bunch of words that even in Spanish, would send me to the WOS.

Guy turned out to be great. Honestly I wish I would have met him first and I'd have never dated the daughter and we'd probably still be good friends.

my in-laws lived in Hawaii so I didn't have to see them much...one year early in our marriage they came for Thanksgiving...well I put their jackets in on the master bedroom bed, and while in there our Golden Retriever came in and laid down he was laid back and didn't care about people coming over...anyway I used to squeeze the cheese at him cause he would squeeze the cheese around me - I know he was a dog and didn't understand... so any way I thought we were alone so I squatted down and busted a huge fart in his face, well I started laughing and as I turned to leave the room my mother in-law was standing in the door way and she seen the whole thing and she started laughing...wow I had to be beet red at that point !!!... lets just say I never heard the last of it... I would do it again if I could because both the dog and my mother in-law are gone now...funny what comes to mind from over 20 years ago...

Good choice. Especially if you are a lesbian.

My FIL busted out an ounce of his special stash. He was proud of what he grew.

I dated a girl right out of high school who lived in Weatherford. After a few weeks she wanted me to meet her parents for dinner at Rosa's Cafe. I arrived to see her and the parents standing outside their vehicle. I pulled right in and as I opened the door of my truck a couple empty Coors light bottles fell out and busted. It was a little awkward.
