Taking my nephew in the morning...he's 14 years old and eat up with bass fishing...I haven't bass fished since last spring (Chase crappie now)...could we catch em on the hot water side yet?... any info is appreciated.
The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

On the power plant point and the bank running towards the railroad bridge, I caught them during thanksgiving weekend on Watermelon red baby brush hog Tx rig. Pitch to the edge of the hydrilla ( growing out to about 6'). The fish were in the grass and on the outer edge.

What is the average size fish you caught? I have never been on the lake?

Thanks for the replies guys...I would rather be crappie fishing on pines...but my nephews has had a really tough year and I want to be there for him as much as I can ...I love to see these kids get a fire for fishing.

Went there today. A little breezy, slow for me, caught 6 to almost 2 lbs. Didn't get there until about 11:00. On a brighter note, met TroyKing at the ramp as he was coming off the water. Plant was running one stack when I got there and it shut down soon after. Caught them on spinnerbait and a couple of differnt creature baits on underspin on the windy side behind the bridge on the edges and holes in grass in 4 to 5 feet of water. Got the "biggest one" on flutter spoon under the bridge coming back in late. Bald Eagle was on it before I tried to drift in and get a picture. No luck. Water level down a few feet from the last time I was there a year or two ago.
